After dying and going to Maldraxxus, it looks like she respec’d and picked up rogue skills.

Warcraft lore afficiandos might be familiar with Draka - she’s the mother of Thrall (the former Warchief and world-saving shaman) who died during the orc civil wars that played out during the original Warcraft real-time strategy games. The five houses of Maldraxxus, as well as the situation that players have to confront, are set up during this short story through the eyes of Draka. In the cinematic, we hear that if Maldraxxus falls, the rest of the Shadowlands goes with it - and that’s presumably really bad, especially since the maximum-security version of Hell known as the Maw is led by the evil Jailer, who is conspiring to take over the Shadowlands. Souls that pass on can be assigned there as part of its fighting force, where they must be dedicated, prepared to serve, and trained to provide the undead military with its strength. This short is all about Maldraxxus, a military ward of the larger Shadowlands plane. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands launches on October 27 on PC.The second World of Warcraft: Afterlives short released on Thursday, part of a flight of animated segments designed to tease the upcoming expansion World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. I'm not sure if we'll see a return to how good Legion was, but I think this will be a solid expansion for new and old players alike.

Regardless, Shadowlands has me more excited than Battle for Azeroth every did. That's the mark of good story-telling, especially in a game that's been around for almost two decades. Hopefully, when I actually start playing, I fall in love with some of these characters as I did with the Thralls and Jainas of the world. I think it's because the old guard of World of Warcraft that I grew up with is barely included. Strangely, this is probably the least hyped I've felt above Shadowlands after watching a new Afterlives short. It was fun, but I was definitely more taken with how striking the environments of Revendreth are. In my time with the beta, I mostly stuck to the Venthyr questline and it's definitely got that feel of high-level politicking. Which, for some is probably a selling point. Of the four covenants, the Venthyr are undoubtedly the most likely to shop at Hot Topic.
